
Through Federally Funded Programs
Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) today announced the recipients of more than $6 million in federal funds for municipal grant projects through the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) and Municipal Highways and Stormwater Mitigation Program (MHSMP).
“These projects have significant value for our transportation networks and our communities,” said Transportation Secretary Joe Flynn. “Improvements to sidewalks, bike paths, and shared-use paths provide people more transportation options and improve their quality of life.”
The selected projects this year include:
- Bethel – Pleasant Street sidewalk ADA construction
- Brookfield – Halfway Brook Road culvert 14 upsizing
- Burlington – Oak Beach Drive gravel wetland
- Chester – Sidewalk improvements
- East Montpelier – Village sidewalk extension
- Huntington – Main Road bank stabilization
- Jericho – Lee River Road sidewalk
- Londonderry – Spring Hill Road box culvert
- Montpelier – Pioneer Street outfall upgrade
- Moretown – New salt shed
- Orange – Orange Sand and Salt Shed
- Rockingham – Imtec Lane stormwater mitigation
- St. Albans – East Basin stormwater project
- Shelburne – U.S. 7 Lower Webster to the Village shared-use path
- Swanton – Church Street improvements, bicycle and pedestrian improvements
- Swanton – Merchants Row improvements, bicycle and pedestrian improvements
- Townshend – East Hill Road culvert scoping study
- Waitsfield – Mad River Path extension from Mill Brook Bridge to Dugway Road
- Westmore – Bicycle and pedestrian scoping study along VT 5A
The TAP and MHSMP scoring committee includes representatives from AOT, the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, and the Vermont Association of Planning and Development Agencies.
