Vermont Lodging Association names Brian Maggiotto Executive Director

Brian Maggiotto, Executive Director

The Vermont Lodging Association, a leading voice for the State’s Lodging and Hospitality industry, announced that Brian Maggiotto has been appointed as its first Executive Director.

Since March 2020, Vermont lodging property owners and operators have banded together in response to unprecedented challenges threatening the future of the hospitality industry brought about by the Covid pandemic.

United by a shared commitment to reopen safely and advocate effectively, this group eventually formed the Vermont Lodging Association (VLA). Since its founding, the all-volunteer board has worked to strengthen and amplify the voice of Vermont’s lodging community in Montpelier and beyond, advancing policies and partnerships that support a resilient, sustainable industry.

“As the VLA has grown, so too has the scope of its advocacy and member engagement,” says Board President Kim Donahue of Round Barn Farm. “To support this momentum and ensure long-term impact, Brian Maggiotto of the Inn at Manchester has assumed the role of Executive Director and will help guide the VLA into its next chapter, focused on advancing advocacy, strengthening membership, and expanding partnerships through targeted outreach, education, and networking.”

With deep experience in Vermont’s hospitality sector and a strong sense of stewardship for the association’s future, Brian, along with his wife Gabriela Torres, is the owner/operator of the Inn at Manchester, located in the heart of Manchester Village. After graduating from the University of Vermont, Brian pursued a career in the television industry, working in various roles for the Bravo Channel in both New York and Los Angeles before returning to Vermont in late 2014. Prior to taking ownership of the Inn at Manchester, Brian developed his industry expertise via an array of positions at Hotel Vermont and the Taconic, a Kimpton Hotel.

He has served as President of the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce and is currently on the Boards of the Southern Vermont Arts Center, Long Trail School, New England Inns and Resorts Association, Vermont Tourism Alliance, and is a founding member of the Vermont Lodging Association.

"I am honored to step into the role of Executive Director with the Vermont Lodging Association at this pivotal moment, working with the countless number of talented hospitality professionals around Vermont in an effort to further strengthen and protect our industry, accelerate growth, and enhance our community impact," said Brian Maggiotto, Executive Director. “Our Board has done a remarkable job stewarding the Association over the past five years and I look forward to building upon their great work as we advance our agenda for a thriving Lodging and Hospitality industry here in Vermont.”
