Vermont Business Magazine The Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Richard J. Wobby, Jr., Executive Vice President of the Associated General Contractors of Vermont (AGC/VT), has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Chamber’s prestigious St. Patrick’s Day Award, recognizing him as Central Vermont’s Citizen of the Year.
Richard will be honored during a festive St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast Celebration on Tuesday, March 17 at 8:00 a.m. at the Barre Elks Lodge. The event will bring together community leaders, business professionals, and residents to celebrate his outstanding service and leadership. Tickets are $25 per person.
Richard’s selection is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the Central Vermont community. Through his leadership, steady support of local initiatives, and the time and energy he invests daily in strengthening the region’s business landscape, Richard has made a meaningful and lasting impact.
With more than 28 years of service to AGC/VT, Richard has built a distinguished career as a respected leader in workplace safety, organizational advocacy, and industry education. He has delivered more than 1,500 motivational and leadership seminars both locally and nationwide. His expertise in safety instruction and regulatory compliance is recognized across Vermont and beyond. Richard is a certified MSHA instructor, an authorized OSHA instructor, and holds numerous certifications in safety and construction practices.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Richard has demonstrated an enduring commitment to community service. He has played a key leadership role for over 20 years in initiatives such as Wheels for Warmth, helping provide heating assistance to Vermont families in need, an effort that reflects his deep dedication to supporting the well-being of his neighbors.
