Tour Highlights Local Food, Beverage, and Vermont-Made Products January–March
Vermont Business Magazine Ski Vermont’s Specialty Food Day Tour returns for the 2026 season with 17 stops at ski areas across the state, bringing local food, beverages, and products directly to Vermont’s ski areas. The pop-up, marketplace-style events take place between January 23 and March 22, offering skiers and riders a chance to sample, shop, and connect with Vermont producers while enjoying a day on snow.
The tour kicks off on January 23 at Jay Peak, coinciding with the resort’s annual Farmers Appreciation Day, before continuing to ski areas throughout the state. Three new stops join the tour this season—Stowe, Middlebury Snowbowl, and Bolton Valley—expanding the series to additional regions of Vermont.
“Ski Vermont’s Specialty Food Day Tour celebrates the connection between skiing, local food, and Vermont’s working landscape,” says Ski Vermont President Molly Mahar. “These events bring Vermont makers directly to ski areas, allowing guests to experience the state’s local food scene alongside the outdoor recreation that defines winter in Vermont.”
Specialty Food Days feature a rotating lineup of local items such as cheese, maple products, snacks, beverages, and other Vermont-made goods from an array of vendors including Cabot Cheese, St. Johnsbury Distillery, BirdieBlue, Cold Hollow Hard Cider, 802 Coffee, and more. Typically located in base lodges or outdoor gathering spaces, Ski Vermont Specialty Food Days are free for ski area guests to browse, sample and purchase their favorite products.
An exciting addition to the 2025-26 season is Ski Vermont’s specialty cocktail, One Last Rum, made in collaboration with partner St. Johnsbury Distillery. Scheduled for all tour stops this season, St. Johnsbury Distillery will be offering tastes (21+) of One Last Rum at the tour kick-off at Burke Mountain on January 24. The cocktail will also be featured at Jay Peak’s Howie’s on the Stateside for après.
Specialty Food Day will highlight other activities as well, including as part of a two-day event at Stowe Mountain Resort’s Seasons of Stowe: Winter Glow series as well as on the Saturday of Sugarbush Resort’s Pride Weekend.
