Heintz joins Boston Globe as Vermont reporter

Paul Heintz, former senior adviser to the University of Vermont's Center for Community News, where he helped establish the Vermont Journalism Coalition, has joined The Boston Globe as a reporter. He will cover Vermont and the northern border for the paper, New England's largest daily.

Heintz previously led the newsroom at VTDigger, Vermont's statewide, digital, nonprofit news organization, first as managing editor and then as editor-in-chief. Prior to that, he spent close to a decade as a reporter, editor and political columnist at Seven Days newspaper in Burlington.

Heintz got his start in journalism at "PBS News Hour" and the Brattleboro Reformer, after graduating from Dartmouth College. He has been named the AP Sevellon Brown New England Journalist of the Year by the New England Society of News Editors and won the New England Newspaper & Press Association's Morley L. Piper First Amendment Award.
