Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets The USDA Value-Added Producer Grant (VAPG) program will open for applications on January 15th, offering critical support for farmers, ranchers, and producer-based businesses looking to grow through value-added products. With approximately $25 million available nationwide, VAPG helps producers develop new products, expand marketing opportunities, and increase income by enhancing the value and reach of their goods.
Eligible applicants may apply for Planning Grants (up to $50,000) to support feasibility studies and business or marketing plans, or Working Capital Grants (up to $200,000) to fund processing, packaging, advertising, inventory, and staffing needs. A 1:1 match is required and may include cash or eligible in-kind contributions.
Producers must demonstrate they grow more than 50% of the raw commodity and will retain greater revenue from the value-added product. Applicants are encouraged to complete the VAPG Self-Assessment Survey before applying.
