The Association of Vermont Credit Unions, a not-for-profit trade association representing Vermont's credit unions, has announced the promotion of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Carrie Allen to president and CEO, effective Jan. 1. She succeeds long-tenured leader Joe Bergeron, who retired at the end of 2025.
In her new position, Allen will address legislative and regulatory issues impacting Vermont credit unions, champion their voice in the media and among community partners, oversee the development of events and resources to benefit member businesses, and support the board's ongoing development as a strategic governing body.
"Carrie is a dynamic leader with a proven track record building relationships with diverse stakeholders," said board chair Jean Giard. "The Board of Directors is excited about this next chapter, and we look forward to working with Carrie to plan the path forward for our members and the Vermont credit union industry of the future."
