Madeline M. Motta, assistant judge at the Superior Court of Lamoille County, has been appointed to the Vermont Commission on Women, the state’s nonpartisan commission working to advance rights and opportunities for cisgender and transgender women and girls and gender-expansive people in Vermont.
Since 2020, Motta has also served as a United Nations observer for the U.S. National League of Women Voters, where she plans policy seminars at the U.N.’s Commission on the Status of Women, an annual international conference.
Motta holds a Master of Social Work from McGill University School of Social Work, a law degree from University of Massachusetts School of Law and a doctorate in civil law from the Comparative Law Institute at McGill University’s Faculty of Law. She is a member of the Vermont Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee and the Vermont League of Women Voters Executive Board.
