National Life Group has announced that its broker-dealer and registered investment adviser, Equity Services Inc., has hired Alex David as president and CEO and Brian Nelson as head of growth strategy.
David joins ESI from Raymond James Financial Services, where he served as Northeast division director. He will succeed Ata Azarshahi, who will retire Dec. 16 after 12 years with the organization. David is a graduate of Baruch College and holds a master's in international economics and a doctorate in economics from Pace University.

Nelson most recently served as managing director and head of practice management at Atria Wealth Solutions. He brings to ESI more than 20 years of proven success in driving revenue growth, elevating practice management, delivering operational excellence and helping top financial advisors achieve record performance.
In his new role, Nelson will focus on accelerating adviser growth strategies, strengthening practice management programs and supporting scalable firm-wide expansion.
