Julia Ferrante

Middlebury College President Ian Baucom has announced the appointment of Julia Ferrante as vice president for communications and chief marketing officer, effective Dec. 8. In this role, Ferrante will provide strategic direction and counsel for all of Middlebury’s communications and marketing work and serve as a member of the college's senior leadership group.

Ferrante joined Middlebury in June 2020 as associate vice president for public affairs. For the past five months, she has served as interim vice president of the communications and marketing team, working on such projects as the presidential inauguration, the kickoff of Middlebury's strategic planning initiative, the launch of presidential social media accounts and crisis communications.

"Julia has proven time and again to be a highly skilled and collaborative leader with a sophisticated understanding of Middlebury, the challenging higher education landscape and opportunities to adapt and excel in our current times," Baucom said. "We are grateful to have someone of her caliber and blend of experience on our leadership team."
