New research from Betway Casino has revealed the U.S. towns that most embody that magical, movie-like Christmas feeling.
The study explored towns and cities across the country, ranking them on festive factors such as the number of Christmas-related Google searches, holiday rentals with indoor fireplaces, cabin rentals, average December snowfall and temperature, and local cafés. The results reveal where in the U.S. you can find that picture-perfect winter escape - no movie studio required.

Park City, Utah, crowned the most Hallmark-like town in the U.S.
Nestled in the Wasatch Mountains, Park City ranks as America’s number one festive destination. With average December temperatures of 19.4°F and 286 mm of snowfall, it transforms into a postcard-perfect winter wonderland.
The town offers over 5,000 holiday rentals with indoor fireplaces, the most of any U.S. destination in the ranking, while its 30 cafés provide countless cozy corners to enjoy a festive drink. Combined with its world-class ski slopes and twinkling lights, Park City delivers the perfect Hallmark-style Christmas scene.
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and Stowe, Vermont, come second and third
Situated beside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pigeon Forge comes second thanks to its abundance of cabin rentals (1,943) and mild winter temperatures averaging 41°F.
It’s the most-searched Christmas destination per capita, showing America’s love for its homely charm and Dollywood holiday spirit. With 2,647 rentals featuring indoor fireplaces, the town offers both comfort and classic Southern hospitality in a festive setting.
Set at the base of Vermont’s highest peak, Mount Mansfield, Stowe ranks third as a quintessential small-town Christmas destination.
The town leads in Christmas-related search interest (578 per 1,000 people), suggesting a strong festive reputation. With 286.9 mm of snow, 517 rentals with fireplaces, and 210 cabin options, Stowe’s historic streets and frosty scenery look like they’ve been lifted straight from a Hallmark movie.
New York leads the way with the most Christmassy locations in the top 10
New York State stands out for having multiple locations giving off the perfect holiday movie magic with Lake Placid, Woodstock, and New York City all appearing in the top 10.
Lake Placid (in 7th overall) boasts nearly 299 mm of average December snowfall and 240 cabin holiday rentals, perfect for a cozy winter getaway. Meanwhile, Woodstock (in 9th) combines a picturesque setting with 595 cabin rentals and an average December temperature of 30.2°F, ideal for those seeking a small-town festive atmosphere.
Meanwhile, New York City (in 10th) provides a bustling urban holiday experience with 937 cafés, though it has significantly less snowfall and only eight cabin rentals.
