The Vermont Community Development Association has named William Colvin, executive director at the Bennington County Regional Commission, as recipient of the 2025 Bernice Murray Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership, dedication and commitment to community development in Vermont.
Colvin has been a leader in the community development field for more than a decade, working to advance regional planning, economic development, housing initiatives and environmental stewardship in southern Vermont. At the BCRC, he has played a key role in forging partnerships among municipalities, nonprofits, private enterprises and residents to drive positive change.
“Bill Colvin exemplifies the spirit of the Bernice Murray Award through his decades of tireless work to strengthen communities in Bennington County and beyond,” said a VCDA spokesperson. “His dedication to fostering sustainable growth, advancing regional collaboration and promoting inclusive development practices makes him a truly deserving recipient.”
