by Timothy McQuiston, Vermont Business Magazine Average gasoline prices in Vermont are $3.15 per gallon, down 2 cents per gallon from last week, down 4 cents/g from last month and down 3 cents/g from last year. The lowest price in the state this week was $2.85/g while the highest was $3.39/g, a difference of 54.0 cents per gallon.
Prices were lowest in Bennington ($2.98/g) and Addison ($3.05/g) counties and highest in Chittenden ($3.24/g), Franklin ($3.24/g) and Grand Isle ($3.25/g), according to AAA.
Average gasoline prices in Burlington have fallen 1.2 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.23/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 100 stations in Burlington. Prices in Burlington are 1.9 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 1.4 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Burlington was priced at $3.07/g yesterday while the most expensive was $3.29/g, a difference of 22.0 cents per gallon.
The national average price of gasoline has fallen 0.3 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.11/g today. The national average is down 5 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 7 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to AAA.
The national average price of diesel has increased 1.1 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $3.663 per gallon.

While OPEC again agreed over the weekend to boost oil production for November, the real story for motorists has been regional variation— especially in areas served by California's supply system. Though the damage from the fire appears limited, the West Coast is likely to see prices climb, while most other areas can expect relative stability or slight declines.”
