Interstates:
Colchester, I-89 Exit 16 Diverging Diamond Interchange – Crews will install drainage infrastructure and drilling in preparation for blasting on 10/15. Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., Lower Mountain View Drive will have lane shifts. The width of the I-89 Exit 16 southbound on-ramp will be reduced, with traffic maintained. U.S. 2/7 between the I-89 Exit 16 northbound on-ramp and Mountain View Drive will be under lane closures and lane reductions. Motorists should expect significant delays and plan extra travel time or consider alternate routes.
Colchester, I-89 Exit 17 Interchange Improvements – Crews will continue installing traffic signals and stormwater treatment infrastructure along U.S. 2, and clean up along U.S. 2 and U.S. 7. From Monday through Friday, between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., U.S. 2, between the I-89 southbound off-ramp and U.S. 7, as well as U.S. 7, between the Shell gas station and Wiley Road, will have lane shifts with two-way traffic maintained. There is potential for short segments of alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on U.S. 2 and U.S. 7. Crews will be outside of the roadway by noon on Friday.
Fairlee, I-91 Bridge Deck Replacement – Both I-91 bridges over Lake Morey Road are open to a single lane of traffic with a speed limit reduction to 55 mph. The crossovers that shifted traffic to allow for the replacement of the southbound bridge deck are being removed.
Montpelier-Waterbury, I-89 South Paving – Crews continue daytime shoulder and guardrail work. Motorists should expect delays during peak travel hours due to the southbound lane closures from Exit 10 to Exit 8. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph within the project limits, and fines will be doubled.
Royalton, I-89 Bridge Rehabilitation – On I-89 near Exit 3 in Royalton, construction activities continue related to the northbound bridge rehabilitation. Traffic is reduced to a single lane. Southbound traffic will use the travel lane, while northbound traffic crosses the median and returns north past the bridges. The Exit 3 North off-ramp uses a crossover to the new ramp. During paving, Uniformed Traffic Officers (UTOs) and flaggers will be present to slow traffic on the off-ramp and stop traffic on the on-ramp. Speed limits are reduced to 55 mph in work zones and 25 mph on the Exit 3 off-ramp. VT 107 has been reduced to 30 mph speed limit and a 14-foot height restriction.
Swanton-Highgate, I-89 Paving – Finish work on shoulders and rumble strips continues on the I-89 paving project between Exit 20 and the Canadian border. Temporary speed limit reductions to 55 mph will be in place across multiple daily single lane work zones.
State Highways:
Barre Town–Orange–Topsham, U.S. 302 Resurfacing – Paving of side roads and driveway aprons is scheduled. Line striping in the roundabout may also occur. Motorists can expect alternating one-way traffic with possible long delays in the roundabout and minimal delays elsewhere.
Bennington, VT 9 Bridge Replacement – Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures on Main Street and Beech Street. Utility crews will be working within the roadway limits during both daytime and overnight hours
Bennington, VT 67A Roundabout Construction – Crews will continue installing curb and concrete for the splitter islands and peanut roundabout on VT 67A at its intersections with Matteson Road and College Drive. From Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., two-way traffic will be maintained on VT 67A along the temporary southern alignment, with intermittent stoppages for construction vehicles. College Drive and Matteson Road are closed at their intersections with VT 67A, with traffic maintained via signed detour routes until mid-November. Crews will be outside of the roadway by noon on Friday.
Brattleboro, U.S. 5, VT 142, VT 9, and VT 30 Resurfacing – A Class 1 night paving project continues with paving, pavement markings, and sign work on U.S. 5 (Main Street), VT 30 (Linden Street), U.S. 5 (Canal Street) and VT 9 (Western Avenue and High Street). Between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday night through Saturday morning, traffic will be reduced to a single lane and flaggers will control alternating traffic patterns through multiple work zones. Parking restrictions will be enforced during working hours. Pedestrians should be vigilant for sidewalk detours. Motorists should watch for wet paint.
Brattleboro-Putney, U.S. 5 Resurfacing – A night paving project is beginning on U.S. 5 (Putney Road) at the intersection with Vermont Avenue and continuing north to the intersection with Noah’s Lane. Between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday night through Saturday morning, flaggers will control alternating traffic patterns. Motorists should watch for elevated utility structures in the roadway.
Cambridge-Johnson, VT 15 Resurfacing – Crews will complete pavement repairs on VT 15 just west of Foote Drive in Cambridge on Tuesday and may be onsite to clean drainage pipes on VT 15 in Johnson and Cambridge throughout the week. Monday through Thursday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., and Friday between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m., flaggers may be onsite to control alternating one-way traffic on VT 15 between VT 100C in Johnson and the VT 15/VT 108 roundabout in Cambridge. Crews will be off the roadway from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on VT 15 in the Village of Johnson.
Hartford, U.S. 4 Quechee Gorge Bridge Project – Crews continue work on the north side of the bridge. One-way alternating traffic controlled by a traffic signal is in place. Pedestrians must also cross on the south side of the bridge. Those walking from the gift shop lot to the southern sidewalk must cross at the visitor center crosswalk. The trail at the bridge underpass is closed through fall 2025. The adjacent trail is open via a signed detour through the visitor center.
Hinesburg-South Burlington, VT 116 Resurfacing Project – Work between the Hinesburg/St. George line and Tilley Drive, S. Burlington continues with traffic control present Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. allowing for one lane of alternating travel within the work areas. Motorists should expect delays.
Ludlow, VT 100 and VT 103 Resurfacing – A Class 1 paving project is nearing completion on VT 103 and VT 100S. Single-lane closures will be in place as needed with flaggers controlling one-way alternating traffic patterns through the work zones.
Pittsford, U.S. 7 Bridge Replacement – For this bridge replacement project at the intersection of U.S. 7 and VT 3, motorists can expect traffic control Monday through Friday to allow for construction vehicles in and out of the work area along with lane shifts on U.S. 7.
Readsboro, VT 100 Bridge Replacement – As part of the bridge replacement over the Deerfield River, crews will finish assembling the 360-foot-long temporary bridge adjacent to Depot Street. Depot Street will be one lane controlled by flaggers.
Searsburg, VT 9 Bridge Replacement – Crews will continue hauling temporary roadway material to the dump site. Alternating one-way traffic will be in effect in the westbound lane under flagger control. Minimal delays are expected outside the work zone, and both lanes will reopen each day.
Washington, VT 110 Bridge #15 Replacement Project – The contractor anticipates finishing guardrail work and starting paving, weather permitting. From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., motorists should anticipate minor traffic impacts on VT 110 in Washington due to alternating one-way traffic patterns controlled by flaggers. Motorists are advised to use extra caution as the bridge is not paved and vehicles will be traveling on a gravel surface.
Waterbury, Stowe Street Town Bridge Replacement – Bridge work continues as crews install the sidewalks and stamped concrete truck aprons. Motorists should expect alternating one-way traffic on Stowe Street and Lincoln Street and shoulder closures on VT 100 northbound between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists should anticipate delays along VT 100 in Waterbury and at the intersection of Stowe Street. Flaggers will be present to assist motorists through the work zone.
Williston, VT 2A and Industrial Ave Intersection Roadway Widening – Crews will conduct roadway widening and paving on Mountain View Road between VT 2A and just west of Marions Way, and signal work and patch paving on VT 2A between Meadowrun Road and Hillside Drive. Mountain View Road is restricted to eastbound traffic only between VT 2A and just west of Marions Way 24/7 until Friday, October 17. Westbound traffic is being detoured from Mountain View Road to North Williston Road, U.S. 2, and VT 2A. From Monday through Friday, between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., lane reductions and shifts may be in effect on VT 2A between Meadowrun Road and Hillside Drive. Motorists should expect daytime delays and plan extra travel time or consider alternate routes. Crews will be outside of the roadway by noon on Friday.
Wolcott, School Street/Town Highway 3 Bridge Replacement – Bridge work continues as crews mobilize equipment, install approach signage, and tree work. Motorists may experience intermittent alternating one-way traffic through the project area on School Street/Town Highway 3.
Worcester, VT 12 Bridge and Culvert Replacement – Culvert work continues as crews begin forming the bridge deck and placing rebar in preparation for concrete. Motorists should expect alternating one-way traffic on the temporary bridge over the North Branch of the Winooski River. Temporary traffic signals will control traffic through the work zone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Flaggers may also be present to assist motorists through the area.
Worcester, VT 12 Bridge and Culvert Replacement – Culvert work continues as crews may install the animal fence on each side of the box. Motorists expect alternating one-way traffic on VT 12 over the new box culvert over Hardwood Brook. Flaggers may be present to assist motorists through the area during working hours. During non-working hours, the roadway is open to two lanes of traffic through the work zone. Motorists are asked to use caution while traveling through the work zone as surface conditions may change.
