Vermont Business Magazine Waitsfield and Champlain Valley Telecom (WCVT), a fourth-generation, family-owned Vermont company, acquired Tilson’s Boundless Broadband Vermont fiber network, which serves customers in parts of Danville, Lunenburg, and Saint Johnsbury.
Founded in 1904, WCVT has been connecting Vermonters for over 120 years. WCVT said in a statement, "While we may be new to some of the areas previously served by Tilson and Boundless Broadband, our roots run deep in Vermont, and our commitment to building and supporting rural broadband is stronger than ever. This acquisition reflects our ongoing mission to deliver reliable, locally supported internet service to more Vermonters."
“We’re excited to welcome these new communities and customers into our network,” said Eric Haskin, President and CEO of Waitsfield and Champlain Valley Telecom. “As a local Vermont company, we understand the unique needs of our neighbors. Opportunities like this don’t come along often, and we’re thrilled to expand our reach to additional customers and communities. The network Tilson built aligns well with our existing infrastructure, which will help ensure a smooth transition and continued high-quality service.”
WCVT also serves as the operating partner for three of Vermont’s Communications Union Districts (CUDs): CVFiber, Maple Broadband, and NEK Broadband. These partnerships reinforce their commitment to collaborative, community-driven fiber broadband expansion to rural communities across the state of Vermont.
Customers in the newly acquired areas can expect a seamless transition, continued investment in infrastructure, responsive local customer service, and a long-term focus on connectivity and reliability.
“We look forward to connecting with you—not just through fiber, but as fellow Vermonters,” added Haskin. “This is more than a business decision; it’s a commitment to our State and the communities we call home.”
