The Community College of Vermont has appointed Associate Academic Dean Candace Lewis as the school's next dean of academic affairs. She succeeds Debby Stewart, who retired in June after 31 years at the college.

“I am thrilled to welcome Candace into this role,” said CCV President Joyce Judy. “Candace believes deeply in the transformative power of community college education, and she will be key to ensuring that CCV continues to deliver high-quality, valuable, relevant programs to Vermonters.”

Lewis has served as associate academic dean since December 2016 and has contributed to program and curriculum development, educational partnerships and workforce initiatives throughout the Vermont State Colleges System. She holds a master's degree in anthropology from Northern Arizona University.
