The Vermont Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors has elected attorney Spencer Knapp (pictured) as chair and appointed Amanda Knox Hoffman, Peter Miller, Marc Scorca and Dr. Prospero Gogo as new members.
A longtime supporter of the VSO and passionate advocate for classical music, Knapp, of Shelburne, brings decades of legal and leadership experience to his new role. He serves as of counsel at Dinse law firm and is former general counsel at the University of Vermont Health Network.
“I’ve been a long-time supporter of the VSO. I think it’s one of Vermont’s most important cultural institutions,” said Knapp. “What’s extraordinary to me is the depth of musical talent in Vermont. If I can play even a small role in helping sustain this musical tradition and the VSO’s legacy, that would be an honor.”
Two new board members — Hoffman, a nonprofit strategic consultant at the Keehar Group, and Miller, a music educator and performer — were voted in at the VSO’s spring board meeting.
Gogo, an interventional cardiologist and professor of medicine at University at Vermont Medical Center, and Scorca, president and CEO at Opera America in New York City, will join the board in early 2026.
