Girls on the Run Vermont, a statewide nonprofit organization for girls in third through eighth grades, has appointed three new board members and two new employees and announced the winners of its Rick Hashagen Limitless Potential Alumni scholarships.
New members joining the board of directors include Caroline Mashia, of Hinesburg, chief financial officer at Vermont Electric Coop; Megan Miley, of Moretown, strategic sales executive at Casella Waste Systems; and Brian Van Horn, of Manchester, director of parks and recreation for the town of Manchester.
New employees joining the organization are Sarah Richardson, who serves as 5K and events coordinator, and Tori Hubbard Ward, who was named program and operations coordinator.
Additionally, the organization awarded $2,500 Hashagen scholarships to graduating high school seniors Hannah Collins, of South Royalton, and Penelope Zygarowski, of Burlington. Both had submitted applications detailing the meaningful ways that being a participant of Girls on the Run Vermont impacted their youth and helped bolster their self-confidence as they grew.
