Vermont Business Magazine Retreat Farm is hosting their 2nd Annual bike ride, the Retreat Farm Ramble, on Saturday, August 16 from 8am-2pm at 45 Farmhouse Square in Brattleboro. The ride features 15, 30, and 50 mile routes through farmlands, covered bridges, and rolling hills with rest stops at iconic local farms, including Scott Farm Orchard and Bunker Farm.
Day-of registration and ride check-in is at 8:00am, with 50-mile riders heading out at 8:30am, 30-mile riders leaving at 9:00am, and 15-mile riders starting at 9:30am.
“I am thrilled to welcome cyclists again for this beautiful tour of Southeastern Vermont. We hope to introduce participants to some local treasures along the way, and we look forward to celebrating with everyone — riders and non-riders alike — at the after party!” stated Kristin Sullivan, Executive Director.
Everyone is invited to help welcome riders back to Retreat Farm at the Riders Return celebration and afterparty, from 11am-2pm. The indie-folk band Modern Fools will perform live on the outdoor stage, and Vernon Creamie will be on site providing delicious local food. Retreat Farm’s Calf Barn will be open so visitors can spend time with the Farm’s animals until 2pm.
New this year, Retreat Farm is raffling off a Retreat Farm Market gift basket valued at $250, filled with artisan cheese, locally produced foods, and a hand carved wooden cutting board made by Livin Roots Woodworks. Raffle tickets are $20 each or three for $50. You do not need to ride in the event to win the gift basket. Tickets can be purchased on the Ramble event webpage at retreatfarm.org.
On the day-of, all riders will be treated to bagels and coffee during registration. Participants will also receive a free swag bag with a drink ticket, merch from Retreat Farm and local businesses, and more, upon their return.
Registration for the ride is $55 per person and all proceeds go to support Retreat Farm’s nonprofit work stewarding 11 miles of trails and 500+ acres of forest, farmland, and waterways. Retreat Farm is committed to creating opportunities for people to connect with nature and one another. The Retreat Farm Ramble is made possible in part thanks to support from Burrows Sports, The Discovery Group, Brattleboro Area Realty, and WEEI and The Peak Radio.
Retreat Farm is growing a community of people who care about the land and each other. As a nonprofit, Retreat Farm works with farmers, producers, and artists to lift the agricultural, creative, and land-based businesses and experiences that make Vermont unique.
Retreat Farm cares for 500+ acres of forest, farmlands, and water, including 11-miles of trails and the historic farmstead. Thanks to the generosity of donors and grantmakers, the Farm is open to the public every day, serving as an essential gathering space for our communities.
