Michelle N. Farkas, shareholder at Gravel & Shea law firm in Burlington, has been recognized as a Best-in-State Lawyer for Vermont by Forbes magazine. She was honored for her dedication, leadership and peer-recognized excellence in commercial real estate law.
Farkas, who joined Gravel & Shea in 1999, is known for her work on complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, financing, commercial leasing and zoning and land use matters. She has represented a wide range of clients, from institutions, real estate investment trusts and commercial real estate developers to individuals and small-business owners.
Farkas graduated from Cornell University, with distinction, and earned a law degree cum laude from Boston College Law School. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Vermont and is an active member of the Chittenden County, Vermont, Massachusetts and American bar associations. Farkas also serves on the board of Vermont ACLU, chairing its governance committee and serving as its vice president.
