Vermont Business Magazine Three public information meetings will be held by the Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) Civil Rights and Environmental Justice Unit (CREJU) this summer to discuss the Environmental Benefits Spending Guidance (EBSG).
The Vermont’s Environmental Justice Law (VT EJ Law) from 2022 requires the Agency to develop guidance – the EBSG – to help designated Vermont state agencies to report on the investments that support communities, especially those most affected by environmental issues.
The guidance explains how agencies should document and share information about the investments that result in environmental benefits for Environmental Justice Focus Populations. The EBSG does not tell each agency what investments they should make.
The EBSG is mainly for state agencies that need to follow the VT EJ Law, however, the law requires a public comment period. The EBSG is also a resource for anyone interested in how environmental benefits are reported. ANR’s CREJU encourages the public to share their feedback.
Two in-person meetings will be held at the following dates and locations:
- 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm July 14, 2025, Brooks Memorial Library, Room A, 224 Main St, Brattleboro, VT 05301
- 12 pm to 1:30 pm July 16, 2025, Vermont History Museum, Snelling Room, 109 State St, Montpelier, VT 05609
A virtual meeting will be held on July 11, 2025, from 12 pm to 1:30pm. Additional details are forthcoming. The meeting recording will be posted on the Environmental Justice Resource Library.
