Vermont Business Magazine Average gasoline prices in Vermont are $3.07/g, down 2 cents per gallon from last week, down 1 cent/g from last month and down 48 cents/g from this time last year. Rutland and Windham counties have the lowest average price at $3.00/g, according to AAA, while Franklin ($3.18/g), Grand Isle ($3.17/g) and Lamoille ($3.16/g) have the highest average prices.
The lowest price in the state this week was $2.69/g while the highest was $3.19/g, a difference of 50 cents per gallon, according to GasBuddy.
Average gasoline prices in Burlington have fallen 0.7 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.14/g today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 100 stations in Burlington. Prices in Burlington are 2.9 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 46.9 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Burlington was priced at $3.03/g this week while the most expensive was $3.19/g, a difference of 16.0 cents per gallon.
The national average price of gasoline has fallen 2 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.14/g today. The national average is down 2 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 36 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to AAA.
The national average price of diesel has decreased 2.4 cents in the last week and stands at $3.465 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.

"The national average price of gasoline has continued its gentle descent over the last week, with the most notable declines seen in the Great Lakes region, where a minor refinery issue was resolved, sending wholesale gas prices lower," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "We're also beginning to see prices retreat in California, a trend that should soon extend across much of the West Coast as additional gasoline shipments from Asia help offset recent refinery disruptions. While gasoline inventories remain somewhat tight heading into the summer, I’m optimistic that increased refinery output could pave the way for further price declines. That said, any unexpected outages could still cause short-term price bumps."
