Vermont Business Magazine Today, Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak announced her intention to appoint Samantha McGinnis as the next Director of the Church Street Marketplace. Mayoral appointments will be brought forward to the City Council for approval at that meeting on June 2.
McGinnis currently serves as the Assistant Director of Downtown Projects & Programs in the Department of Business and Workforce Development. Throughout her six years with the City of Burlington, McGinnis has led efforts to activate the Church Street Marketplace and City Hall Park, with 100+ free annual public programs and events, including the launch of the Winter Market in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I am proud to appoint Samantha McGinnis to serve as the next Director of the Church Street Marketplace,” said Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak. “I believe Samantha’s skills and experience make her the right person to steward the Church Street Marketplace into the future.”
McGinnis earned her Bachelor of Science in Community & International Development from the University of Vermont. She also holds a Core Certificate from the Institute of Nonprofit Management and Leadership with Boston University‘s School of Management.

Mayoral Appointments will be brought to the City Council at its June 2 meeting. If confirmed, McGinnis would step into the role of Director on July 1.
