Vermont Business Magazine The leadership of University of Vermont and UVM Staff United announced that they have reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement. The agreement is subject to ratification by the union’s membership and approval by the UVM Board of Trustees.
UVM Staff United Co-Presidents Ellen Kaye and Claire Whitehouse and UVM’s Chief Human Resources Officer Chris Lehman stated:
"UVM staff are essential to the University’s success and its commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience for students, conducting groundbreaking research, and offering technical assistance and support to Vermonters. We are pleased to announce a tentative collective bargaining agreement.
"As we move forward with this second contract, the university and UVM Staff United are committed to working together to confront the significant and serious challenges that currently face higher education."
Specific terms of the tentative three-year agreement will be released after the approval and ratification process is completed.
