Patty McCarthy, CEO at Faces & Voices of Recovery, the nation’s leading advocacy organization for the recovery community, has been presented with the Legislative Champion Award by the Vermont Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery.
McCarthy has spent over 25 years advancing policies that prioritize dignity, access to care and person-centered recovery support services. A Vermont native, she previously served as the director of Friends of Recovery Vermont.
“Patty McCarthy has been a tireless advocate for recovery in Vermont and across the country,” said Daniel Franklin, executive director of VAMHAR, a statewide organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by mental health and substance use challenges through advocacy, education and community engagement. “Her leadership has not only changed policies but has also saved and transformed lives. It is an honor to recognize her contributions with this award.”
