Vermont Business Magazine Erin Pond, commercial banking officer at Community Bank, was named the 2025 recipient of the Vermont Bankers Association Woman of the Year award at the organization’s annual Women in Leadership conference on March 5.
The award recognizes an individual who excels in their profession while going above and beyond in supporting or lifting other women to their full potential through a commitment to mentorship, peer-to-peer exchange, volunteerism or other means of championing women to help them succeed.
Pond has dedicated more than 20 years to mentoring women in the banking industry and continues to set new benchmarks for volunteerism at the bank, dedicating her time and expertise to facilitating aid and connections in the community that address pressing needs, including housing, food, and physical and mental health.
“As a leader, Erin fosters an environment of encouragement and engagement,” Community Bank New England Regional President Matt Durkee said. “She fully believes in being inclusive, intentionally acts this way, and encourages kindness in others. We could not be more proud to see Erin recognized as the Vermont Bankers Association’s Woman of the Year — congratulations!”
Pond joined the Community Bank team in 2017 and manages a range of specialized duties to identify and serve the needs of commercial banking customers in the Vermont market as a commercial banking officer. She is also the bank’s director of captive services. In 2024, Erin volunteered her time with several area business development and nonprofit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, LoveYourBrain Foundation and Vermont Works for Women.
Pond was appointed to the board of directors for the American Red Cross of Northern New England Vermont chapter in October 2024.
