Burton aims to drive growth with two key executive hires

Jennifer Valentine
Debbie Lee

Burton, the Burlington-based designer and manufacturer of industry-leading products for snowboarding and the snowboard lifestyle, has announced the hiring of Jennifer Valentine as chief merchandising officer and Debbie Lee as chief marketing officer. Both report to CEO John Lacy and collaborate with Burton owner Donna Carpenter.

“Burton’s commitment to snowboarding is stronger than ever, balancing growth while elevating our dedication to purpose impact work,” Lacy said. “Jen and Debbie are the right leaders to help guide us in Burton’s next era of balancing profit and purpose.”

Valentine, Buton's first chief merchandising officer, is an accomplished business leader with over 18 years of experience at Adidas, where she held various roles in finance, strategy, sales and merchandising. Most recently, she led the global merchandising and go-to-market strategies for Adidas' soccer business.

Lee, who officially joined Burton in October, oversees the teams in brand, marketing and creative, focusing on aligning the brand’s snowboarding legacy with a forward-thinking, go-to-market approach that speaks to a diverse, global audience. Prior to joining Burton, Lee held senior leadership roles at 4moms, Caastle, Skip Hop and Elizabeth Arden.
