The Green Mountain Care Board, an independent board responsible for controlling the rate of health care costs while improving the health of Vermonters, has promoted Kristen LaJeunesse to communication and information officer and hired Abby Parker as board administrator and communication specialist.

LaJeunesse has served the past two years as executive assistant to the chair. In her new role, she will coordinate media relations, manage information flow across the organization and assist in drafting media materials and legislative reports. Additionally, she will be the primary media contact for the GMCB and will continue to manage the chair's calendar.

Parker joins the board from Steps to End Domestic Violence, where she served as communications specialist. In her new role, she will support the administrative functions of the board as well as ensure Vermonters are informed of GMCB's work.

"We believe these appointments will enhance GMCB's communication efforts and strengthen our engagement with the media and the public," Executive Director Susan Barrett said.
