Burlington welcomes new director of city planning

Burlington Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak has announced the appointment of Charles Dillard as the permanent director of the city's Office of City Planning. Dillard has been serving as principal planner and interim director of the department.

Dillard is a graduate of Wake Forest University. He holds a master's degree in city and regional planning from the University of North Carolina and a master's degree in landscape architecture from the University of Toronto.

Prior to his role in Burlington, Dillard served as an urban designer for the city of Raleigh, North Carolina.

"Planning Director Dillard is an accomplished and visionary city planner, and I am proud to have him become a permanent member of the city’s leadership team,” Mulvaney-Stanak said. “I am confident that Charles has the experience and vision to lead planning efforts that support Burlington becoming a modern, resilient and accessible city.”
