Vermont Business Magazine Small businesses are the heartbeat of our community, all year long. During the Season of Small Business, the Vermont SBA encourages every American to show their appreciation for these tireless engines of our economy by choosing to shop, dine, and entertain small. We ask you to choose to shop locally in Vermont for unique gifts this holiday season and support the small businesses in your community!

Happy National Write a Business Plan Month!
A good business plan guides you through each stage of starting and managing your business. You’ll use your business plan as a roadmap for how to structure, run, and grow your new business. It’s a way to think through the key elements of your business.
Business plans can help you get funding or bring on new business partners. Investors want to feel confident they’ll see a return on their investment. Your business plan is the tool you’ll use to convince people that working with you — or investing in your company — is a smart choice.
The SBA has free resources to help you write a business plan. Read our latest article on LinkedIn to find workshops, webinars, templates, and Vermont resource partners who can help: Free Resources to Help You Write Business Plan | LinkedIn

Mental Health Parity Workshop
The Department of Labor is holding this workshop to help you comply with federal laws regarding your health plan and answer your questions about new laws and issues. We recognize that understanding and complying with DOL regulations can be challenging especially for small and medium sized employers with limited time, resources, and/or access to professional assistance. This workshop will provide practical information, helpful tips and clarification regarding the Mental Health Parity and Addition Equity Act (MHPAEA).
This workshop will help employers, service providers, and benefit professionals understand how the provisions of MHPAEA apply to employer-sponsored group health plans and provide information on how to avoid common problems.
You may join the Workshop by selecting the link below or use the join by phone option.
