The Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce recently honored technology executive Jacklyn Matts, architect Analee Patel and the VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region for their contributions to southwestern Vermont in 2024. The honorees were recognized at the second annual Heart of The Shires luncheon in Montpelier on Nov. 6.
Matts, director of technology at Overland Summer is Williamstown, Massachusetts, received the Heart of the Shires Award, which is given to an individual who exemplifies community service and leadership. She was cited for her extensive work with the LGBTQIA+ nonprofit Queer Connect as well as her leadership on the Bennington Charter Review Committee.
Patel, junior architect at Centerline Architects in Bennington, was named the Lindy Lynch Volunteer of the Year, an award that celebrates outstanding volunteer spirit. She was saluted as a "cherished community member" for her dedication to local events and festivals in the region.
The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region received the Community Leadership Award, which recognizes an organization dedicated to driving change and supporting community well-being. The organization was honored for providing exceptional and compassionate home care services to scores of vulnerable individuals and for sponsoring several community events across the region.
