Sarah Hofmann, former executive director of the New England Conference of Public Utilities Commissioners, has been appointed to the Vermont Community Broadband Board by Vermont House Speaker Jill Krowinski.
Hofmann, a graduate of Rollins College and University of New Hampshire School of Law, will complete the remaining three-year term of board member Holly Groschner, who resigned in October.
“Ms. Hofmann's legal expertise will be invaluable as Vermont moves forward into the Broadband, Equity, Access and Deployment programm,” said VCBB Executive Director Christine Hallquist. “I speak for the VCBB staff in saying we look forward to her oversight and contributions.”
The VCBB board holds the authority to approve program and budget development, grant awards and funding allocations related to broadband development within Vermont.
