RunVermont welcomes Anthea Dexter-Cooper as executive director

Anthea Dexter-Cooper

Anthea Dexter-Cooper, former senior attorney at the Conservation Law Foundation, has joined RunVermont, a nonprofit organization dedicated to producing premier running events across the state, as executive director.

Dexter-Cooper brings to RunVermont a strong background in leadership. Prior to her tenure at the law foundation, she served as legislative counsel for the state of Vermont and, before that, as assistant city attorney for the city of Burlington. Dexter-Cooper is a graduate of Cornell University and holds a law degree from the University of Minnesota.

A dedicated runner, Dexter-Cooper has participated in over 50 races, including relays, marathons and ultramarathons; served on the race committee for the 2016 Vermont City Marathon and Relay; and most recently took part in RunVermont’s Summer Six Pack 5K race series. She also served on the board of Special Olympics Vermont for five years.

“Anthea’s commitment to running and her diverse professional background make her the perfect leader for RunVermont,” said Beth Anderson, chair of RunVermont’s board of directors.
