Smugglers’ Notch Distillery is honored to have been chosen to represent Vermont as a partner with Princess Cruises

Vermont Business Magazine Smugglers’ Notch Distillery is honored to have been chosen to represent Vermont as a partner with Princess Cruises in their “Cocktails with a Story” program. This culturally meaningful initiative delights passengers with top-shelf regional spirits and specialty beverages, helping to make destination cruises a distinctive experience to be remembered.

As described by Princess Cruises on their website, “Our expert Mixologist, Rob Floyd, has refreshed the cocktail menus across the entire Princess fleet using his unique blend of knowledge, technique, and flair for storytelling. Exclusive cocktails from the master himself join guest favorites with locally inspired flavors to create moments remembered long beyond the last day of the voyage.”

Smugglers’ Notch Distillery’s Maple Gin and Maple Cream Liqueur will be featured as a distinctive Northeast brand on the cocktail menu and in the coffee bars for the cruise line’s fourteen Canada and New England cruises that charter guests from New York, Newport, Boston and Portland in the USA to St. Johns’s (for the Bay of Fundy), Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown, Saguenay, and Quebec City in Canada.

Smugglers’ Notch Distillery’s father/son small-craft distillery enterprise and partnership with the sugarbush forest industry of Vermont is a compelling story to share with regional pride.

Maple Gin is a hand-crafted gin with natural flavor made in small batches from juniper berries, select botanicals, and 100% Pure Vermont Maple Syrup. SND Maple Gin balances light juniper overtones with the rich complexity of maple notes, creating a unique spirit that delivers traditional gin flavor with a delicious sweetness that can only come from Vermont maple syrup.

SND’s Vermont Maple Cream Liqueur is an indulgent blend of flavors. It starts with extraordinary rum aged 3 years in charred white oak barrels and finished off in SND bourbon barrels for another year to infuse complex whiskey overtones. Then it is married with 100% pure, local organic Vermont maple syrup and fresh cream. Light whiskey notes greet you as you sip, and a satiny, complex confluence of creamy vanilla, maple, and toffee lingers mid-palate. It finishes with the mellow sweetness of rum. The fact that Smugglers’ Notch Distillery’s Maple Cream Liqueur won a double gold medal in The San Francisco World Spirits Competition boosts its allure as a premier offering for cruising visitors to our region of the world.

“We hope this new partnership with Princess Cruises expands appreciation for the wonders of our special Vermont mountainside and the spirit of its people,” adds Ron Elliott, co-founder of Smugglers’ Notch Distillery.

About Smugglers’ Notch Distillery

The alchemy of a father/son dream! That’s the magic that created Smugglers’ Notch Distillery®, founded by father and son Ron and Jeremy Elliott. In 2006, Ron, a retired business executive, and Jeremy, a research chemist in the pharmaceutical industry, teamed up to follow their collective passion to establish a distillery in the Vermont mountainside. Six tasting rooms including the flagship store at the 10-acre distillery facility in Jeffersonville offer experiences for visitors to learn about the team’s story and process.

Since launching their Double Gold Award-Winning Vodka back in 2010, SND has grown organically and gone on to craft multiple gold and silver medal award-winning spirits. www.smugglersnotchdistillery.com
