Ran Lahav, distinguished professor of philosophy at Vermont State University, has been awarded a Fulbright scholarship that will support his academic work at West University of Timisoara in Romania next spring.
During his time in Romania, Lahav will deliver a series of presentations, workshops and conferences, focusing on his pioneering work in “deep philosophy.” This innovative practice, which he founded and has been developing for nearly two decades, involves a profound and personal engagement with philosophical ideas and texts.
Lahav’s work is part of the broader “philosophical practice” movement, which includes philosophers from around the world dedicated to making philosophy relevant beyond the confines of academia. Lahav has been an active and influential figure in this movement, and his deep philosophy approach has had a significant impact on many.
