Two Vermonters announced as 2024-25 Obama Foundation Leaders

Asha Carroll
Gregory Tatro

Vermonters Asha Carroll, assistant vice president of community campaigns for the National Stigma Initiative at Shatterproof, and Gregory Tatro, co-founder of Jenna's Promise, are among 100 leaders selected to join the Obama Foundation Leaders USA program.

The program supports rural communities and innovative change agents, empowering leaders tackling pressing issues facing their regions. As part of the six-month program, Carroll, Tatro   and the other leader participants will convene virtually each week for interactive sessions designed to help them drive change by honing their leadership skills, building deep relationships with their peers, and engaging with thought leaders and members of the Obama Foundation community.

They will also have an opportunity to participate in various virtual experiences and special events, including one-on-one conversations with experienced mentors in the Foundation's global network.

“The Obama Foundation is committed to rural communities and the issues they face, but more im-portantly, to the change agents putting forth innovative solutions to those problems,” said state Sen. Kesha Ram Hinsdale (D-Chittenden Southeast), who nominated Tatro for the fellowship. “Gregory embodies the spirit of the Obama Leaders program, especially knowing that he will take what he learns and give it back to Vermont in every way he can.”
