AFT Vermont, the state’s union of 10,000 health care and higher education workers, elected or reelected five members to its Executive Council at its 2024 convention in Burlington. They are:
- Heather Bauman, student success adviser at Vermont State University, Castleton, elected vice president for health care.
- Emily Casey, English lecturer at University of Vermont, elected vice president for higher education.
- Nicole DiVita (pictured), phlebotomist at University of Vermont Medical Center, elected president for health care.
- Sebastian Lucy, student success adviser at Vermont State University, Castleton, elected president for higher education.
- Claire Whitehouse, research specialist at the University of Vermont’s Center for Rural Studies, elected secretary-treasurer.
