Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation’s Urban and Community Forestry Program (UCF) has announced over $430,000 in funding to support community tree planting and tree maintenance. Eligible applicants include municipalities, public educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations. Applications will be accepted through January 10, 2025.
* Tree Maintenance and Removal Grants:
Funded by Inflation Reduction Act, these grants will support local efforts to maintain a healthy urban tree canopy and address dead and high-risk trees in disadvantaged communities. Awards will range from $5,000 to $20,000, with no cost-share requirement.
* Community Tree Planting Grants:
Funded through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and administered by the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission<https://www.ccrpcvt.org/> in collaboration with UCF, these grants will support tree planting projects to increase urban tree canopy and improve water quality and public health by controlling stormwater. Awards from will range from $5,000 to $75,000, with no cost-share requirement.
