Vermont Business Magazine Nothing is more powerful than love, especially when it’s given away. The Subaru Share the Love event is back, and Rutland Subaru is excited to be one of the many retailers participating nationwide.
“This year Rutland Subaru has selected Rutland Regional Medical Center’s Enhancing our Culture of Care campaign as the beneficiary of its local Share the Love event,” said Stephan Maeder, owner of Rutland Subaru. “The campaign will support the upgrade of the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit at Rutland Regional. During the Share the Love event, Rutland Subaru will donate $250 for every new Subaru sold between 11/15/19 and 1/2/20. We are proud to partner with Rutland Regional to support this important initiative right here in our community”.
Rutland Regional Medical Center has a long history of caring for patients in need of inpatient psychiatric services. As one of only five inpatient psychiatric units in Vermont, Rutland Regional is recognized as a leader in providing patient-centered, coercion-free care, and implementation strategies to identify patients at risk of suicide.
The Psychiatric Inpatient Unit has not been upgraded since its inception in the early 1980s. In 2020, Rutland Regional Medical Center will upgrade its Psychiatric Inpatient Unit to ensure the most welcoming, respectful, and therapeutic environment for patient care. A fundraising goal of $550,000 has been set to support the necessary improvements and specialized furniture to enhance the safety and security of our patients in a recovery-oriented environment. As a not-for-profit hospital, Rutland Regional relies on community support to assist with this initiative.
“We believe that engaging patients in an empathetic environment where they feel safe, supported and valued is key to their recovery and overall wellness. Quality inpatient psychiatric care is of the utmost importance for our region. Community support will enhance the work that we do by creating a safer and more patient-centered unit for the individuals we serve”, said Lesa Cathcart, Director of Nursing Care, Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at Rutland Regional.
Jeff McKee, Vice President of Community & Behavioral Health Services added, “We are grateful to Rutland Subaru for choosing the Culture of Care campaign as the beneficiary of this year’s Subaru Share the Love program. We appreciate the support that this initiative will generate and the awareness it will help to create about the importance of high-quality inpatient psychiatric care in our community”.
