Vermont State Police On 10/15/2019 at approximately 0838 hours, the Vermont State Police received a call of a three vehicle crash in the town of Lowell at the intersection of VT Route 58 and VT Route 100. Initial investigation revealed vehicle 1 was travelling on Hazen's Notch road headed towards VT Route 58. Vehicle 1 crossed the intersection of VT Route 100 where it was struck by vehicle 2, which was travelling northbound on VT Route 100.
Upon impact, vehicle 1 collided into vehicle 3 and vehicle 2 travelled off the travelled portion of the road. The operator of vehicle 2, Craig Sears, was unconscious when EMS arrived on scene and was transported to North Country Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Vermont State Police Derby Barracks.
