Vermont Business Magazine October is employee ownership month. Employee-owned Vermont businesses will join forces for a second year in a row to raise funds for The Vermont Food Bank, which helps provide nutritious food to Vermonters in need.
Last October, the effort of the employee owners of Vermont was wildly successful, raising $17,800 and bringing in over 3,000 pounds of non-perishable food donations. More than a dozen companies participated, with Hallam-ICS as the top fundraiser, bringing in $4,143.
“Employee ownership is based upon generosity and giving. The Employee Owners of Vermont was formed through a common bond of ownership and community service. This joint food drive brings us together to help others in our communities," Hallam-ICS CEO Keith Flaherty said.
Employee Owners of Vermont, made up of employee-owned companies, was formed as a way to collaborate on community impact/service projects that build relationships between employee-owners at neighboring companies, make positive community impact, and raise the profile of participating companies as employee-owned.
This year, Employee Owners of Vermont is seeking to involve even more local employee-owned companies in the effort, and has set the goal of raising $20,000 and 4,000 pounds of food during this year’s Employee Ownership Month.
