Vermont State Police On September 24, 2019 at 9:00 AM the Morristown Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at 2017 Cote Hill Road. Upon their arrival they observed a wooden shed on the property to be fully engulfed in flames. The storage shed was located away from any other structure on the property and did not spread from its original location. The shed, which was approximately 8 feet by 8 feet, and all of its contents were completely consumed in the fire.
Morristown Fire Chief Shawn Goodell contacted the Department of Public Safety Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit for an origin and cause investigation. The examination, which was conducted jointly with the Morristown Police Department, was determined to be an intentionally set fire.
Attached to this press release is a photo of a red vehicle seen coming and going from the fire scene on Cote Hill Road just prior to, and immediately after the fire.
The driver of this vehicle is considered a person of interest in this arson investigation. The Vermont Arson Tip Award Program offers a reward of up to $5000 for information that leads to the arrest of an arsonist.
