Vermont Business Magazine The Community Health Centers of Burlington (CHCB) are pleased to announce the promotion of Elicia Thompson, DDS, to the position of Dental Director. Dr Thompson will replace Diana Greenough, EFDA, who will retire from the organization on October 1, 2019, after 45 years in non-profit dental care.
Originally joining the Dental Clinic of Burlington in 1974, Greenough continued on with CHCB when the two organizations merged in 2004. “I cannot imagine a more forward-thinking organization than CHCB. Working here has been an amazing way to give back to the community that we serve,” Greenough shared. ”I will miss my staff, both friends and dental family, all the departments that make Dental look and work so well and, most of all, I will miss our patients. I have seen so many grow up in my time here, and it warms my heart to know it is because of all the goodness and professionalism we have within our walls. A new generation of Dental will be moving forward in Dr. Thompson’s capable hands.”
“I am proud to be taking on the role of Dental Director,” Dr. Thompson added. “It has been my honor and pleasure serving CHCB for the past seven years, and I am looking forward to supporting our team into the future!”
Thompson joined CHCB’s Dental Team in 2012 and has worked with patients at the Riverside and South End Health Centers, as well as the School-Based Dental Center located inside the Integrated Arts Academy in the Old North End. She will continue to see patients on a reduced schedule as she assumes more leadership responsibilities in her new position.
For 47 years, the Community Health Centers of Burlington have provided quality health care for Vermonters regardless of financial or insurance status. One of 12 Federally Qualified Health Centers in the state, CHCB has eight locations and is one of the largest nonprofit family health and dental practices in Chittenden and Grand Isle counties.
