ECHO at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain

1 College Street, Burlington

US Senator Patrick Leahy will make remarks as the Vermont-based organization Pure Water For The World celebrates its 20th anniversary.  The group, headquartered in Rutland, with offices in Honduras and Haiti, provides safe water and sanitation tools, along with training, in its efforts to prevent the sickness and deaths of children and their families due to preventable waterborne diseases.

Senator Leahy has made clean water a priority for many years, securing well over $100 million to protect Lake Champlain and other waters in Vermont, and hundreds of millions of dollars annually for water and sanitation programs that are administered by the U.S. Agency for International Development in the world’s poorest countries.
