Vermont Business Magazine U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will present 35 citizenship candidates to the U.S. District Court for Vermont during a naturalization ceremony at Essex High School on Wednesday. Magistrate Judge John M. Conroy will administer the Oath of Allegiance to the candidates.
The 35 citizenship candidates originate from the following 20 countries: Australia, Bhutan, Brazil, Burma, Canada, China, Colombia, Egypt, Germany, India, Iraq, Japan, Liberia, Moldova, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Russia and United Kingdom.
USCIS naturalization ceremonies in Vermont are judicial ceremonies and, with court approval, often occur at venues such as museums and schools to increase public awareness of the U.S. citizenship process. In fiscal year 2018, USCIS welcomed over 750,000 citizens during naturalization ceremonies celebrated across the United States and around the world. The next ceremony in Vermont is scheduled for July 4 at Calvin Coolidge Homestead. A complete list of upcoming ceremonies is available here.
USCIS encourages new citizens and guests to share their naturalization ceremony experiences and photos through social media using the hashtag #newUScitizen.
