Since the remnants of Hurricane Beryl ripped through Vermont one week ago, the Red Cross has worked closely with partners to provide emergency shelter, food, water, relief supplies, emotional support and health services to Vermonters affected by the storm. Our disaster relief operation is supported by 71 trained Red Cross disaster workers, including a small group of volunteers who specialize in supporting health and mental health services, as well as spiritual care needs in the shelters and throughout the community.

RED CROSS SERVICE DELIVERY TO DATE:
- The Red Cross, with the help of partners, have served 2,850 meals to those in need.
- Our volunteer teams have distributed at least 410 clean-up kits, 24 pallets of water as well as dozens of shovels, tarps, gloves, bleach, boxes of garbage bags, masks and other clean-up supplies.
- Since shelters opened, the Red Cross and our partners have provided safe refuge for dozens of Vermonters in three emergency shelters.
- Red Cross disaster assessment teams continue to survey residential damage throughout Vermont. Preliminary damage reports indicate that out of 211 assessments done to date, 74 homes were either destroyed or severely damaged.
We encourage anyone impacted by this storm who needs assistance to call 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767). For additional help or to report damage, Vermonters should dial 211.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
You can help people affected by disasters like flooding and countless other crises by making a donation to support Red Cross Disaster Relief. Your gift enables the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small.
- Visit redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
- The Red Cross is not accepting donations of clothing or household items, as these types of donations divert resources away from our mission.
- Due to health code regulations, the Red Cross cannot accept donations of homecooked meals or food items not prepared in a commercial kitchen.
