Katrina Menard

Katrina Menard, a former legislative assistant to U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), has joined the Public Assets Institute as a state policy fellow for Vermont.

The institute is an independent research organization that works to advance racial, social and economic justice in Vermont through research, fiscal analysis and public engagement and empowerment. Menard's two-year fellowship program is sponsored by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a progressive think tank based in Washington, D.C.

Menard has spent several years in the nation's capital analyzing and coordinating federal legislation for Sanders and the U.S. Senate Budget Committee, focusing primarily on housing, transportation and flood recovery policy. She also has experience with state-level policy in Vermont’s agricultural and transportation sectors.

Menard is a graduate of the University of Vermont and is currently completing a master’s degree in sustainable transportation online through the University of Washington’s College of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
