Vermont Business Magazine On Saturday, June 29, 2024 Camp Ta-Kum-Ta will be celebrating 40 years, by holding a Black Tie Gala at the DoubleTree in Burlington, VT. Since 1984, Camp Ta-Kum-Ta has provided exceptional experiences for children and families impacted by childhood cancer. In that time, Camp has grown from a one-week summer program for children who have or have had cancer into a year-round camp for families impacted by childhood cancer. In addition to expanding our programs over the years, Camp has also been able to build a beautiful world-class facility in South Hero, VT.
None of this would be possible without the incredible Camp Ta-Kum-Ta community of families, volunteers and donors. There is much to celebrate!

Along with great food and great company, actor Paige Davis will be the Emcee at the 40th Anniversary Gala! From her camp volunteer days to her days on TLC & Broadway she has never lost touch with her Ta-Kum-Ta family. Additionally, “A House on Fire” will be providing music for the event and the evening will end with a Diamond Raffle sponsored by Perrywinkle’s Fine Jewelry (you do not need to be present to win). As one of Camp Ta-Kum-Ta’s parents once said, “In our family’s darkest moment, Camp Ta-Kum-Ta offered us a light. The activities were just what we needed to know that we weren’t alone in our struggles. Everyone embraced us with open arms. My child and my family have benefited greatly from Camp Ta-Kum-Ta.”
This magic touches the lives of nearly 100 Vermont and New York families every year by creating opportunities for the entire family. A cancer diagnosis impacts every member of the family and Camp Ta-Kum-Ta’s year – round schedule makes sure that everyone feels welcome and appreciated.
Camp Ta-Kum-Ta provides year-round programs for children who have or have had cancer, and their families. They are entirely supported through donations from the community, and there is never a charge to the camper or their family.
