Peter Blackmer, former human resources administrator at Southern Connecticut State University, has been named chief human resources officer at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.
Prior to his tenure at SCSU, Blackmer served for many years at the University of Vermont, where he held a variety of positions, including human resources and labor relations liaison; director of labor and employee relations; and associate chief human relations officer.
“Peter is someone with decades of leadership experience and a deep knowledge of the intricacies of human resources, including labor and employee relations,” said Brattleboro Memorial President and CEO Christopher Dougherty. “We are thrilled to have Peter on our team.”
Blackmer holds a bachelor's degree in sociology and history, a Master of Public Administration in organizational management, a master's in American history and a Doctor of Education in educational administration, all from the University of Vermont.
