Vermont Business Magazine During Make-A-Wish Night at Centennial Field, six-year-old Wish Kid Lila from Manchester, Vermont, kicked off the evening's game against the visiting Westfield Starfires with a heartwarming rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner." Immediately following her performance, a special announcement was made revealing that Make-A-Wish Vermont would be granting Lila's wish for a community stage in her hometown.
This exceptional and thoughtful wish—one that gives back to her community—will be built by Vermont Construction Company at Hunter Park in Manchester, Vermont.
Sponsored by Instramart, Make-A-Wish Family Night at Centennial Field included free tickets and meal vouchers for Make-A-Wish Kids and their families. The event provided Wish Kids and their families with free admission to the game, meals, and a special meet-and-greet with the Lake Monsters and their mascot, Champ.
"We are honored to grant Lila's wish for a community stage," said Jamie Hathaway, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Vermont. "This wish is not only a gift to Lila but also to the entire Manchester community. It's a beautiful testament to the power of a community coming together to support one of their own. We are grateful to David Richards and the Vermont Construction Company team for their generosity and dedication in bringing this wish to life, creating a special place for Lila to share her passion with the community that loves and supports her."
